What neuroscience now knows is that our brains have a natural negative bias and we can offset it by regularly nudging our focus into a positive state.
Our brains like to ruminate on negative thoughts or feelings and they respond to them as if they are real. The same is true for positive thoughts and feelings. Our focus determines our state of mind; which determines the meaning we assign to situations, which controls our behavior and our reality.
Using mantras or affirmations and repeating them daily (or more often) helps remove the unconscious negative filters (neuropatterns) that we have and that often limit us.
Here are some mantras (from The Mind Aware and Dana Wilde) that we can repeat (one or more each day, repeat as needed) to offset the negative messages we repeat to ourselves.
