52' CENTER-BEAM FLATCAR with BULKHEADS - TOMCO CAR #203 - HO Scale. Center-Beam Flatcars, (sometimes called center partition railcars) were designed for carrying a variety of banded building materials such as dimensional lumber, wallboard, fence posts, etc. The sturdy end walls called Bulkheads, prevents the loads from shifting past the ends of the flat car. The Center-Beam Flat Cars with Bulk heads appeared in the 1960’s and are still in use today.
